If you’re a dedicated Baltimore Ravens fan like me. You get early on game day, put on your ravens jersey, get some beer and hope for the best that the Ravens win. This year the Ravens went into the playoffs with the record of 9-7. And, the Patriots were 10-6. Patriots have always been a tough team. We lost to them earlier this year with the score of 27-21. It was such a close game. Many will remember that game, and we knew we had to go into the Patriots game with energy and power.
Ray Rice, 2nd Season with the Baltimore Ravens started the game yesterday by running 83 yards for a touchdown with frigid fans still settling into their seats. Tom Brady the quarterback of the New England Patriots had three of his four turnovers in the first quarter. The first 5 minutes of the game, the Ravens were winning 14-0.

Baltimore’s 24 points in the first quarter tied for the second-most in NFL playoff history. The Patriots’ defense was so porous, allowing 234 yards rushing, that Joe Flacco only had to throw 10 passes, completing four for 34 yards. Rice rushed 159 yards for a team that averaged 182.6 on the ground in its previous five games.
The Patriots received the second-half kickoff trailing the score 24-7. I knew the Ravens had this game in the bag. With Brady’s so called broken ribs and broken index finger. The Ravens were ready to attack Brady before he could even make a play. They kept pressuring Brady into mistakes after mistakes, and not one penalty was called against them.
Not only was Brady injured but, the league’s leading receiver, Wes Welker wasn’t able to bail Brady and his teammates out of this mess.
“I would have been booing us, too, the way we played,” Brady responded. “That’s their right. We just didn’t play well. You have to give those guys a lot of credit; they played well in all phases, and really took it to us.”
The Ravens took victory with the winning score of 33-14. The Patriots suffered their first home playoff loss since a 1978 Divisional Playoff vs. the Oilers. The Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh, running a victory lap to slap hands with the large amount of Baltimore fans that made their way to New England for the game. . Harbaugh can hope for such support in Indianapolis (14-2) on Saturday. Baltimore hopes to avenge a 17-15 loss to the Colts on Nov. 22. The Ravens team is now playing with great confidence and will hopefully beat the Colts on Saturday!
