Birthday Bash at the Pier!

laurieberkner

Whose birthday? EVERYONES! That’s right, celebrate your birthday, his birthday, her birthday, everyone and anyone’s birthday at the Laurie Berkner Band’s Birthday Party Concert May 1st at Pier Six Pavillion.

If you have little ones you probably recognize Laurie from Nick Jr. This concert is the perfect opportunity to bring the music off the television and into your children’s dancing feet. Need more of a reason to go? How about the fact that you’ll get to spend quality family time outdoors!

What do you bring to a Birthday Party Concert?
1. Wear your favorite party hat (Any kind will do!)
2. Picture of a birthday cake (download the picture and color it in)
3. An animal for your head because animals have birthdays too!
4. Donation of a NEW book for the ***Kids Care Clubs charity.

Got to Get 1964 Into Your Life

Dubbed the “Best Beatles Tribute on Earth”, compliments of Rolling Stone Magazine, 1964 The Tribute is heading to Annapolis August 1st.

1964

Help! Are you skeptical of the tribute cover bands? I know I am… but from me to you, I’d say you can trust Rolling Stone’s judgement eight days a week. What seperates 1964 from other Beatles tributes is their ability to authentically recreate the live Beatles experience (reminds me of Dark Star Orchestra’s commitment to recreating the Grateful Dead). At most tribute concerts I close my eyes and pretend the music is the original… but not with 1964. Their instruments, costumes, hair, and even stage banter will have you believing its the Beatles.

So round up your Beatle fanatic friends, flashback, and let 1964 please please you because the Rams Head On Stage will still need you and will still feed you when you’re 64.

Around the World with Ozomatli

Ozomatli live in Jordan
Seamlessly blending traditonal world sounds from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and more with funky rock beats makes Ozomatli an act worth catching.  Their music is upbeat, lively, and suggests positive political activism.  Comprised of nine ethnically diverse members, Ozomatli embraces music as a multi-cultural language that transcends borders both on and off the stage.  The band has been known to throw free concerts, jam with local musicians, and host musical workshops in locations such as India and Nepal.  It is obvious Ozomatli draws from many world influences and is committed to supporting musical growth across the globe.  What does Ozomatli have in store for Baltimore?  You’ll have to come out to see… perhaps a casual jam thru the crowd as they did at Bonnaroo 2005:

Ozomatli hits the Rams Head Live! stage on April 27th.

With a New howd-they-do-that Video, We’re Announcing: Ok Go

Ok Go, most memorable as the syncronized treadmill troup, are coming to Rams Head Live… syncronized with the release of their newest video for “This to Shall Pass”. With nearly a million views in 3 days, this one sledgehammers 2006’s “Here We Go Again”…. No, literally throws a sledgehammer through a television screen! But not to worry, there are plenty of paper airplanes, spinning marbles, paint cannons, flourescent flags, flying umbrellas, and teddy bears with golf clubs to soften the violence. And to think, it only took them 4 MONTHS to perfect this RGM (Rube Goldberg Machine).

With a live show as creative and kooky as their videos we can’t wait to see what the boys have up their sleeves for you, Baltimore!

Ok Go w. special guests Earl Greyhound, Robert Francis
